This conference is embedded in a series of conferences, which will continue in Hannover (Germany) on 25 September, the Netherlands and Brussels (Belgium) on 6 November.
This regional conference emphasized four main topics:
- Presentation of a new security standard for safe and secure truck parking areas in Europe
- An in-depth EU-wide geographical analysis of the needs for safe and secure truck parking areas
- A comprehensive support manual for operators of safe and secure truck parking areas
- Recommendations for a common API displaying information and services about safe and secure parking areas.
The conference validated the concept of the common standard for truck parking areas that will guarantee reliable information on the security, service and comfort of truck parking areas embedded in a reliable rating system.
It also emphasized the need for a manual and common API recommendations to the benefit of truck parking operators, authorities and the entire transport sector.
